CONTRACTORS WIN HIGHEST SAFETY AWARD
DIAMOND UNLIMITED
AND BMW CONSTRUCTORS PRESENTED WITH PLATINUM AWARD
At the TRMA Annual Meeting held April 28,
2008, six (5) manufacturers and thirty (34) Contractors Companies
supporting these manufacturers were recognized for excellence
in safety performance in 2007.
TRMA's highest contractor award, the Platinum
Award, was presented to Diamond
Unlimited and BMW Constructors. Diamond Unlimited was
recognized for working nine (9) consecutive years without
experiencing an OSHA Recordable injury. BMW Constructors worked
over one (1) million hours at TRMA facilities in the last
four (4) years with an excellent safety performance.
CITGO Petroleum,
Dow Chemical, ExxonMobil, INEOS NOVA and Smurfit Stone Container
were honored with the Partnership Award, presented to a manufacturer
that achieved a total workplace OSHA recordable incidence
rate of less than 0.8 in 2007. The safety performance of all
employees and contractors working at the facility are included
in determining this award.
Meritorious Performance Awards
were presented to 31 Contractor Companies that worked all
of 2007 without experiencing an OSHA recordable injury at
TRMA facilities and 2 Contractors performing high-risk work
that had an OSHA incidence rate of less than 0.8.
In addition, Gold Awards
were presented to 6 Contractors that achieved a 25% or greater
reduction in OSHA recordable incidence rate in 2007 as compared
to the previous three years.
