Can We Afford the New Clean Water Proposals

"The U.S. EPA is considering new rules that will increase the compliance cost of discharging water into Illinois waterways by millions of dollars", said Fred Andes. He was the speaker at the Environmental Division meeting in March dealing with the topic of Clean Water Rules Update. Mr. Andes is an attorney with Barnes & Thornburg, and is considered one of the leading experts on Water issues. He also serves as Chairman of the Federal Water Quality Coalition.

Time is Running Out to Make Reservations for Annual Meeting

Reservations are being accepted for the TRMA Annual Meeting which will be held April 20, 2011, at the Holiday Inn in Joliet, IL. A short report of the 2010 TRMA accomplishments and 2011 plans will be given as well as the presentation of the 2010 Safety Awards for excellence in safety performance. TRMA Provides Confined Space Entry Watch and Fire Watch Safety Training

Contractors working at Three Rivers Manufacturers' Association (TRMA) facilities are required to provide documented confined space entry watch, and fire watch training for all employees who will perform these duties. TRMA began providing this training in August 2010 and manufacturers have established individual implementation dates for completion of training. Both programs were developed by TRMA in coordination with a committee of manufactures and contractors.

Golf Outing

Reservations are now being accepted for the TRMA Annual Golf Outing to be held Monday, June 6, 2011, at the Morris Country Club. The cost per player is $180 for TRMA members which include green fees, cart, use of the driving range, lunch, steak dinner, beverages, and prizes for everyone, and a great time. This summer TRMA will be compiling a new Membership Directory for publication in the fall. As a benefit of membership, each TRMA member receives a full complimentary page in the Directory to describe its products and services, and list key personnel.

Also, we are offering an opportunity to advertise in the Directory.
